Q1:I am very interested in coming to learn Qigong and Tai Chi in Wudang around the 20th of August for about 3 weeks. Would this be possible to do at your school? Also, I was just wondering if you can arrange transport from Beijing? Absolutely! We teach Taoist Gongfu 每we teach three categories: Taichi such as Sanfeng 13 forms and Taiyi 5 Elements Boxing;weapons such as Taiyi Xuanmen Sword and Taoist Fuchen;Qigong such as Wuxing Qigong and Baduan Jin. We can arrange transport from Beijing to central China's Wudang Shan.Just tell us the following details: 1. your flight's number and arrival time; 2. whether you need pick-up and sending to the railway station; 3. whether you need reserve one or two nights hotel in Beijing or just come to Wudang directly; We've associated with a travel agency in Beijing to whom we have long trust . So once you give us confirmation we can right away tell them what to do. Q2: Would we be having classes actually on wudang mountain or in the town of wudang below the mountain? You'll be having classes on the mountain! Our school is at Huilong temple area up in the mountain. There is a town below the mountain which is called Laoying. Quite some schools are in and around the town. The reason we have chosen the spot on mountain is that we want to have a special atmosphere people can easily feel on a Taoist sacred mountain rather than in a crowded and noisy town. Q3: Will i be staying at the Wudang monastry for sleep and meals? how much does it cost? and if not what arrangemts can be made in order to support my stay? A:The Wudang Taoist Martial Arts School(Wutaomas) is just within 5-minute walk to the Huilong Temple. It's impossible to sleep and have meals in it, as it is quite ruined. But don't worry 每 you won't be arranged to settle down in a hotel for sleep and meals. The teaching is mainly conducted on the campus practise gound; sometimes in the temple. The temple is ruined and not renovated, so it's not for the tourist sightseeing but good for Tai Chi and Chi kung practise. Price for food, accommodation and Wushu training at school(sometimes in the temple)is as follow: 400yuan/day;2000yuan/week; 3000yuan/10days; 4000yuan/2 weeks;5000yuan/3 weeks;6400yuan/month;60 thousand yuan/year. Q4:Do you know how the weather would be like when I arrive? Wudang Shan is in the central China. It's not too cold in the winter as it is in north China; not too hot and humid as in the south. It's not too high as in the west where it's quite common to have mountains over 3000 meters ; not too flat as in the east and north China where you see no end of the edge of the land which might makes you feel tired of vision. This area has universally considered as one of the best places suitable for human living. As to the subtle temperature and weather I will keep close attention of the weather forecast and inform you a couple of days ahead of your arrival. Q5: Will i be training with the Wudang monks or will there be a different class for westeners? will i be practicing one on one with a teacher or within a group? A: You will be trained with a Wudang Taoist martial artist. Our master Shiyu is one of the closest diciple of Grand master Dao Zhu who was once the abot of the Wudang Monastery. There is no difference regarding whether you are a westerner or not.Although this is not a huge school, it's sort of international school with mainly students overseas. All the studetns will be taught on the same training ground. Upon your arrival, you will be arranged an interview from which we know how you wish and then your teaching is arranged. Q6:will there be an English speaking teacher ? and if not how would the teaching will be made? A:I speak perfect English to help with the communication. The wushu teacher, Master Chen, however, can also speak some English now.You see, Wushu class are mainly related to movement teaching. There are of couse cultural elements behind. But no worry 每 in your one month (or longer) stay, I will once or twice give you theory lecture to help with deeper exploration.By the way, in the daily class, there is another guy from Germany whom you can regard as your classmate and who can speak both English and Chinese very well now! he has a three year study plan in our school!
Q7. Will the training be emphisized on cultivation (health) or martial arts? |
