Q1:I am very interested in coming to learn Qigong and Tai Chi in Wudang. Would this be possible to do at your academy? Also, I was just wondering if you can arrange transport from Beijing?
Absolutely! We teach Laojun Yangsheng Gong and Taiyi Wuxing Qigong.We strongly believe in the benifit of tranquility. In another word, we lay much emphasis on Jing Gong (meditation) and do it with mind language (Xin Yu).Master Bi,t he creator of Laojun Gong is 82 years old (in 2008) and still looks energetic and vigorous. He is going to be 100-year-old baby. Gu Shining, the teacher of Laojun Gong, is 45 years old and looks like 10 years younger. we teach Wudang Tai Chi and hold the view that Tai chi is a kind of moving Qigong, so we will have your attention for the cooperation of breath and move.
We can arrange transport from Beijing to central China's Wudang Shan. Just tell us the following details:
1. your flight number and arrival time;
2. whether you need pick-up and sending to the railway station;
3. whether you need reserve one or two nights hotel in Beijing or just come to Wudang directly;
We've associated with a travel agency in Beijing to whom we have long trust . So once you give us confirmation we can right away tell them what to do.
Q2: Would we be having classes actually on wudang mountain or in the town of wudang below the mountain?
You will be having classes in the academy situated on Wudang Mountain. We also have teaching spots either higher in the mountain or below the mountain. This can be very flexible to meet with the need of all kinds of students. Wudang Taoist Culture centre is aiming at promoting Wudang culture in general, so if you don't feel like staying in the current invironment, we can arrange you into any school with any masters who are members of the centre.
Q3: What is the environment of the academy like? What is a day like in it? What is your price list?
A: The Wudang Taoist Wellness Academy (the main teaching spot for Taoist wellness) is located on the west route to the Golden Top of Mt Wudang. It is surrounded by beautiful mountains and waters. First of all, it is a place of peace and quiet, which is very good for tranquility and concentration. All of our rooms have bathroom and aircon (but it's not much expensive than the other schools).We have various training space, either on the campus, or on the roof, or in the woods on the slope near the academy.

Here is a typical day of the academy: in the morning, before breakfast, we have jogging on the road.From 8:30 to 10:30, it is Tai chi lessons. From 11:00 to 12:30, it is time for cultural studies, such as Mandarin, caligraphy,traditional music instruments and so on. in the afternoon, from 3:00 to 5:00, it is another two hours for Taoist gongfu teaching, mainly Qigong.In the evening, free activities.
Q4:Do you know how the weather would be like when I arrive?
Wudang Shan is in the central China. It's not too cold in the winter as it is in north China; not too hot and humid as in the south. It's not too high as in the west where it's quite common to have mountains over 3000 meters ; not too flat as in the east and north China where you see no end of the edge of the land which might makes you feel tired of vision.
This area has universally considered as one of the best places suitable for human living. As to the subtle temperature and weather I will keep close attention of the weather forecast and inform you a couple of days ahead of your arrival.
Q5: How about the teachers? will i be practicing one on one with a teacher or within a group?
A: Headmaster Shining is one of the diciples of Grand master Zhong Yunlong who was once the abot of the Wudang Monastery. All the teachers are specialized in internal kung fu. we also have teachers offering classes on Taoism, accupuncture, Tuina, TCM and so on. There is no difference regarding whether you are a westerner or not. Although this is not a huge school, it's sort of international school with mainly students overseas.
All the students will be taught on the same training ground. Upon your arrival, you will be arranged an interview from which we know how you wish and then your teaching is arranged.
Q6: Will there be an English speaking teacher ? and if not how would the teaching will be made?
A:For those who prefer learning Wudang martial arts with an English speaking teacher, GU SHINING is a very good choice! He can also offer translation help while you are learning from other Wudang teachers. If you can understand Chinese, there is not any communication problem.If you focus on form learning and don't explore something behind the movement, you can do without a translator!

We eat at the school. It's mainly Taoist diet which means more vegetables. But we also have meat, fish and eggs now and then. One or two overseas students share one room. 4 -6 Chinese students stay in one room. It's not extrememly cold in Huilongguan spot. There are a few rooms with airconditions, however.
